The Australian Literacy Clinic (ALC) is renowned for its dedication and commitment to increasing the literacy levels of all children. ALC's Clinics provide direct reading instruction to children with learning difficulties following current research and practices.

Why should I consider yearly membership?

Help your child or students with prepared resources that focus on reading, comprehension, spelling and grammar.

Every year parents and teachers spend hundreds of dollars on books that are too easy, too difficult, not appropriate, too young, too old or are just not used. The online membership allows parents and teachers to access hundreds of resources that are developed by literacy specialists and aimed at children in K-6. The bank of resources increases each week so parents are guaranteed of finding material that is suitable to each child. Yearly membership guarantees teachers and parents ongoing home and classroom support through material that is relevant and current.

What do I get for my membership?

Membership gives you the following benefits:

  • Unlimited access to reading worksheets
  • Unlimited access to comprehension, spelling and grammar worksheets
  • Resources added every week
  • Covering Kindy to Year 6
  • Designed by Literacy Specialists
  • Half-yearly newsletters
  • Easy to use
  • Safe and secure payment via PayPal

What age groups do the resources cover?

That is the wonderful thing about ALC's online resources... it doesn't. That's right, the resources are presented in a K-6 format however you are able to access the entire range of resources. For example, your child or student is in year 5 and struggling with reading. You may find that the year 3 work is more suitable to his/her ability. Remember developing reading success is based on many factors however we must give children work that is ability appropriate rather than age appropriate. This will assist in building self esteem with an 'I can do it' attitude.

Can I see a sample of the resources before I sign up?

Absolutely! You can download the following resource samples:

How often should I use the resources?

This is entirely up to you and your child. Parents and teachers live very busy lives so we suggest that 10 minutes of reading per night is adequate. Your child or student may wish to do more, so let them. The resources are there to help your child or student develop confidence in reading.

Why aren't there any pictures or colour?

In all ALC Clinics we do not use pictures or colour in our programs. We use a stimulus controlled environment to assist children who are struggling with reading. We teach the basics of the language through a systematic, structured and diagnostic approach to reading. By limiting the access to pictures and colour we are able to control behaviour, assist short term and working memory issues, processing difficulties and most importantly we are able to produce 'real' readers who develop a love of reading and maintain reading success. The resources are there as an addition to current school practices and should not cancel programs which are implemented at school.

How much does it cost?

Membership is currently available for the low cost of just $99.00 per year.
